While vertical centrifuging of metals has been in practice for some time it has been found that when casting alumimiun  alloys using this process a large amount of oxide can be generated due to metal turbulence generated by the spinning mould or die.

Centracast Westside Engineerieng Ltd has minimised this problem by designing the control system
CENTRATECH® using the latest technology which is capable of controlling the casting process.

CENTRATECH® control system

Short tool setting times coupled with the ability to recall stored casting recepies from the CENTRATECH® control system make set up times very efficiant assisting gratley in short run production costs.

This control system can be adjusted to suit the casting charactistics of different dies or moulds as shown below.

True Centrifuging
Single Cavity Die
Semi Centrifuging
Single Cavity Die
Centrifuging
Multiple Cavity Die

This innovation ensured :-

  • The ability to cast thinner sections.

  • Reduces gassing and porousity.

  • Improved directional solidification of metal dendrites.

  • Improved dimensional accuracy.

  • Stronger casting weight : strength ratio.

  • Higher casting yield.

  • Faster die casting times.

  • Improved visuality or appearance of castings.

  • Fettling time is reduced due to less runners and risers.
